| Heyuan Municipality is situated in the northeast of Guangdong Province, and in the mid-upper reaches of the Dongjiang River. It covers from East Longitude 114°14' to 115°36', North Latitude 23°10' to 23°27'. Heyuan borders upon Meizhou Municipality and Shanwei Municipality in the east, Huizhou Municipality in the south, Shaoguan Municipality and Huizhou Municipality in the west, and Jiangxi Province in the north. The total area of Heyuan Municipality is 15,800 square kilometers.
